A Rebel’s Hymn

The earth is an ephemeral canvas
It breathes only to gratify its inhabitants
It loiters for that flawless artisan,
Who will lay waste her colours and boon
Yet, little that we see in nature is ours
For we have bequeathed our hearts to prickly thorns!
The undulating sea shamelessly bares her bosom to the moon
Whose boldness unleashes a ray of taboo desires
Tidal waves crash callously upon naked shores
As the sensuous zephyr gusts at beastly hours
For this, for everything, we are out of tune,
For the strings of nature’s instrument has finally broken
And we are all gathered now, like thorny roses,
Bred ingloriously into a creed outworn
But might I, stand on this tomb of malice,
Rebelliously oppose glimpses that would make me less forlorn
